Day 6- Pick Your Ride

3x5 Copic markers
We had the privilege of living in the Philippines many years ago.

They had very few traditional taxis because the main form of transportation was the brightly colored, customized and dangerously crowded JEEPNEY.
The friendly and creative people took the jeeps left from WW2 and repurposed them into magical taxis for the common man.

My children loved when it was their turn to pick which one we would ride in.

Day 3 All Roads lead to Oma's House

3x5 index card and Sharpies
 Day 3 Prompt: MAP

The best map I can give is to my grandchildren.
I can give them truth through stories, dreams through play and memories to build on.
There will always be lots of love and lots to do for my 10+ sweet grand ones!

Alex Haley said it best

"No one can do for little children what grandparents can do.
Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children"

Day 2 The Mask Of Confession

3x5 + alcohol markers
Today's prompt is Carnival.

I had lots of ideas including a drawing of all the monkeys that dance around inside my head but I took a simpler path for this 3x5 index card.

I love all the beautiful masks during Mardis Gras and as I read a bit of history about this practice I learned that the English version is Shrove Tuesday. It comes from the past tense of the middle English word shrive meaning :to confess. Thus the title.

Day 1 - The Ambipolar Mask

What ICAD 2015 is-

'The challenge is about the DOING and not the
KEEPING or PRESERVING or ARCHIVING.
It is the process of creating each day that matters.'

Day One is CHEVRON. Anything you want to do involving this age old pattern.
I like faces in my art and my chevron play in Sharpie marker led to The Ambipolar Mask

The Everyday Pleasure of Playing

At last the rain and storms are gone from Oklahoma! They left us and Texas a whole lot wetter and greener. There is so much damage and sadly deaths but soon some of that loss will become beauty as new plants and flowers burst forth to once again give us hope.
The first part of the year had began with weddings and births and lots of new things to keep me happily busy with family. Ive pressed on with improving my "skills". My drawing class is teaching me so much and I'm learning to be braver and less critical of my work.
As summer begins I thought it would be fun to just "play." Two of my FB friends were joining a group called ICAD 2015 http://daisyyellowart.com/icad/icad-faq.html..and I thought Yes-Why not. I could use some relaxing, no deadlines or expectations art time.
ICAD uses any type of 3x5 index card as the canvas for your creations. You need as few or as many art supplies as you desire. It has daily "prompts" (they tell you what to do) or you can go free style and do whatever you wish. It runs from June 1- July 31.
Ive posted the link and all your questions can be answered there. Id love for everyone to join me- especially those of you who think you have no inner artist! Its just a little time each day and you don't even have to post your work unless you want to.
I'm going to try to post here daily but I do have commitment issues -lol

Hope to see you in the group!
