| One of the things that I care deeply about are Women's issues. I care not just because I am a woman but I am concerned because I believe the love and care a society gives to women sets the tone for the success or failure for the generations to come. My poem and art give expression to what I am trying to say- I will protect your Heart A maidens dreams taken by violence Her innocence shattered by a fist. The hope of a future, swollen and bloodied In the name of religion or culture. The whip bears down taking with it all thoughts of being free. The locked door of dominance and the chains of oppression Bring death to a heart and another generation. |
